India’s first Superhatch Fabia pipped strong competition from the Maruti A-star to be adjudged the “Active Small Car of the Year” award at the NDTV Profit Car & Bike Awards held on February 20, 2009 at the ITC Grand Maratha in Mumbai. This trendsetter has particularly impressed the noted jury members with its impressive combination of style, performance, technology, safety & space offered by no other hatchback on Indian roads.
Having created a distinct category, Fabia – India’s first Superhatch, seems to have fuelled everyone’s imagination by already winning 3 awards this year. It scores particularly high on features such as practicality and roominess that appeal to a large segment of customers.
The award was presented to Mr. Ashutosh Dixit, GM, Sales, Skoda Auto India and Ms. Meghna Choksey, PR & Corporate Communications, Skoda Auto India. Speaking on this accomplishment, Mr. Dixit said, “We are delighted that the Superhatch Fabia has been chosen as the Compact Car of the Year. This is wonderful recognition which Skoda car owners and Skoda employees alike can celebrate in the country.”
“The Fabia has exceeded our highest expectations, demonstrating it can compete and win against the best compact cars in the market. We at Skoda always believe in giving the customers what they want. A Superhatch at an affordable price, a car that makes you feel special the Fabia is all of it.”
Available in 8 variants and in 7 colours like Corrida Red, Satin Grey, Brilliant Silver, Magic Black, Candy White, Storm Blue and Cappuccino Beige, The Fabia offers to its customers outstanding build quality, safety, space and technology. The value of the car is enhanced by features like dual front air bags, alloy wheels, parking sensors, ABS, MSR and Dual Rate Brake Assist, auxiliary audio input, electric sunroof, dual tone interiors, completely adjustable driving position, projector headlamps, power windows and mirrors and 185/60 R 14 tubeless tyres among others.
